We attended a Westchase speed date event on June 24, 2009. We had no idea that we would meet the love of our life!

On the night of the speed date, we talked for a short period of time prior to the event, and we were definitely interested in getting to know each other better. This was a speed date, however, and we wanted to give everyone a fair chance and to make the most of the evening.

After we received our matches three days later, we both proceeded to arrange dates with each of them. When we went our first date together, however, the connection was immediate. By the end of our second date, we only wanted to date each other.

Our relationship quickly escalated from there. Our feelings for each other grew stronger and stronger with each passing day. On Christmas Eve, exactly six months to the day after the speed date, we became engaged.

Regarding speed dates in general, we were both surprised about how much of a “feel” you can get about another person in only four minutes time. At the very least, you can get an idea of whether or not any chemistry exists. You can also ask questions about anything that is truly important to you in helping you make a decision about pursuing a possible relationship. At a speed date event, you will most likely meet professional, friendly people who share the same expectations of meeting other eligible singles for friendship and dating and possibly even meeting their lifetime partner.

We are deeply in love with each other, and we often talk about how we would never have met if both of us had not attended the speed date. We are very excited about planning our upcoming marriage and future life together.
